Yesterday Twitter started changing their Title Tags (I would assume also their meta and description tags) to be placed more favorably in search results. Facebook has also started to re-url their user’s profile pages to increase Google Juice.

I see two things happening: 1) The start of a very serious race to own Google’s algorithm (which everyone will end up losing because Google will just change the formula) 2) Twitter positioning itself to be purchased buy Google. Google would rather buy a company out of control than change their secret code to exclude them and have a antitrust suit on their hands. Either way, I can sense things are about to get a little hairy in the bay. (2nd from the bottom is the twitter listing and a pitch in their description tag)
